The true essence of the holiday season lies in kindness, generosity, and community connection. In celebration of Ethiopian Christmas (Genna), our school community came together to turn these values into real action through a meaningful outreach initiative.
A Joint Effort for a Worthy Cause
The project was spearheaded by the school Charity Club alongside 8th-grade students, working in close collaboration with the Citizenship Education program. Together, they led a school-wide mobilization across grades 1 through 8, inspiring students from every grade level to contribute to a greater purpose.
Through this joint effort, students, families, and staff generously gathered essential daily supplies, clothing, items, and monetary donations to support Mekedonia Elderly and Mentally Ill People's Center.
A Memorable Visit
On January 6, 2026 (Tahsas 27, 2018 E.C.), student representatives and faculty members boarded the school bus to personally deliver the gifts to Mekedonia.
During the visit, students handed over the collected donations and spent quality time interacting with the residents. The experience gave students a firsthand look at the power of empathy, human connection, and social responsibility—core lessons that extend far beyond textbook education.
Lessons Beyond Academics
This initiative demonstrated the core values of our Citizenship Education curriculum in real life. By taking active roles in organizing, collecting, and delivering the donations, our students gained invaluable experience in leadership, teamwork, and compassionate action.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all the students, parents, teachers, and staff who made this holiday donation drive a resounding success. Your generosity brought smiles and comfort to many this holiday season!
