At Shebu Ejersa Kindergarten, we believe the early years are the foundation of a lifetime of learning. Named after the first settler of the Kalala community — a man whose legacy of vision, stewardship, and community-building still inspires us today — our kindergarten is where children take their first steps into education in a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
We provide a safe and joyful space where children ages 4–6 can explore, discover, and grow — academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Just as Shibu Ejersa built the foundation of a community, our kindergarten builds the foundation of a child's future. Every song sung, every letter learned, every friendship formed here is a step toward breaking the cycle of poverty and building a generation of confident, capable, and compassionate leaders for Ethiopia.

Young children learn best through play. Our classrooms are designed with learning centers where children engage in hands-on activities — building blocks, puzzles, art, dramatic play, and sensory exploration — all carefully guided by trained teachers to develop fine motor skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Children are introduced to the foundations of reading, writing, and mathematics through stories, songs, rhymes, games, and interactive activities. We follow the Ethiopian Ministry of Education curriculum while incorporating best practices in early childhood education to ensure every child is ready for primary school.
We place strong emphasis on helping children learn to share, cooperate, express their feelings, and build friendships. Daily routines, group activities, and guided interactions teach respect, kindness, and self-regulation in a supportive environment.
Rooted in the Adventist values of the Kalala Learning Village, we nurture each child's spiritual growth through simple prayers, Bible stories, and lessons about gratitude, compassion, and caring for others.
Our kindergarten is closely connected to the Summit Clinic at Kalala Learning Village. Children receive regular health screenings, immunizations, and nutritional support to ensure they are healthy and ready to learn. A nutritious meal program supports growing bodies and minds.
